I do titanium welding using the Tungsten Inert Gas Arc Welding method. Its basically the only way to weld titanium. Check out my web site at http://mach3ti.com

Is fusion welding the only type of welding system that will work with Titanium and Niobium?

I've shopped around, and the Sparkie™ welders are about a kilobuck. Here's a description of what they are. I have built my own fusion welder kludge, but won't describe it until I have a good enough version to be comfortable telling others how to do it. As with my (admittedly third rate) Dimmer Anodizers I'd like to hear from anyone who has tried laser welding for jewelry, as well.
